Main institutions
The European Council
- Sets out EU main priorities
- Composition:
The European Commission
- Proposes laws, manages EU budget and ensures compliance with EU policies

The European Parliament
- Represents EU citizens
- Adopts laws, ensures compliance with these and approves EU budget
